Nikol Lake, located near Nikol Gam, is one of Ahmedabad's important lakes and is approximately 900 years old, with significant cultural and environmental value. The lakefront proposal focused on creating neighbourhood recreational spaces while preserving its existing ecological character.

Major improvement of the lakefront was proposed on a vacant part of the land adjacent to the lake, extending the public realm around the lake. The design established a continuous informal pedestrian network connecting multiple access points and creating varied experiences along the lake edge, including peripheral walkways and steps leading down to the water. The proposal replaced concrete-focused edge protection with more flexible materials that supported biodiversity and retained a portion of the lake as a bird habitat, recognising and preserving its existing ecological capacity.
