Rajkot, situated in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat is the fourth largest city in the state and 22nd fastest growing city in the world. It consists of prime engineering and industrial centres of Gujarat. An initiative was taken by Rajkot Builders Association (RBA) to assist Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA) in their capacity as advisors to develop a conceptual proposal for the city, spread over 686 sq. km.

DPC strategised the conceptual planning of the city and prepared a concept Development Plan. After statutory publication by RUDA, DPC critically evaluated the Draft Development Plan for Rajkot 2031. The methodology and evaluation of DPC constituted of benchmarking the proposal with the fundamental planning principles, evaluation of land use plan, road network plan and their integration, evaluation of GDCR and assessment of implementation issues as per the provision of the GTP&UD Act, 1976.
